Klangrausch - the art of string trio
Klangrausch - the art of string trio is equally at home in the “classical” string trio repertoire as it is open to the new and unfamiliar: original works from the 18th to the 21st century – from Mozart and Beethoven, Schubert, Dohnányi, and Kodály through to modern works – form the ensemble’s core foundation, alongside their own arrangements of works originally written for other instrumentations. Custom arrangements lend well-known masterpieces (such as Schubert’s Winterreise) a distinctive sonority and vibrant expressive color. A central focus of the ensemble’s artistic work is collaborating with contemporary composers who write works specifically for Klangrausch - the art of string trio, continuously expanding the string trio genre. In 2027, Klangrausch will premiere works composed specifically for the musicians by Christian Jost and Georgy Gusev. The ensemble aims to enrich this wonderful repertoire for string trio with one to two world premieres each year.
Klangrausch - the art of string trio has performed in renowned concert halls including the Berliner Philharmonie and the Elbphilharmonie Hamburg, collaborating with guest artists such as Camille Thomas, Boris Kusnezow, Marlis Petersen, and Roman Trekel.
